Direct Cash transfer scheme - Rajiv Gandhi’s dream and Rahul Gandhi’s efforts
Aapka paisa aapke haath.. that is what former Prime Minister and the man who paved the path for a modern India Rajiv Gandhi always dreamed , his son and Congress General Secretary wished and worked sincerely for it, and now it has become a reality. Congress led UPA government at the centre has taken the decision to implement the Direct Cash Transfer scheme from January 1, 2013. On many occasions, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi talked about the benefits of Aadhar card and he argued that this would ensure that the funds meant for aam aadmi would directly reach their accounts. Now this land mark policy is going to be a reality. The Union government has said that it would launch the payout of direct cash subsidy to people through the Aadhaar based system in 51 districts of the country from January 1The Congress led central government intends to complete roll out of the direct cash transfer through the Aadhaar system in the entire country by the end of 2013. This will, among other things, facilitate the pay out of direct cash subsidies to the targeted beneficiaries.
The dynamic Congress leader and now the man who heads the Congress election campaign, Rahul Gandhi always showed a keen interest in the Aadhar-UID card and he has been putting in his all possible efforts to ensure its speedy implementation.

Direct cash subsidy transfer from Jan 1; Rahul Gandhi always talked about it
On many occasions, Congress General Secretary Rahul
Gandhi talked about the benefits of Aadhar card and he argued that this
would ensure that the funds meant for aam aadmi would directly reach their
accounts. Now this land mark policy is going to be a reality. The Union
government has said that it would launch the payout of direct cash subsidy to
people through the Aadhaar based system in 51 districts of the country from
January 1 says Finance Minister P Chidambaram said. He said the government
intends to complete roll out of the direct cash transfer through the Aadhaar
system in the entire country by the end of 2013. This will, among other things,
facilitate the pay out of direct cash subsidies to the targeted beneficiaries.
The dynamic Congress leader and and now the man who heads
the Congress election campaign, Rahul Gandhi always showed a keen interest in
the Aadhar-UID card and he has been putting in his all possible efforts to
ensure its speedy implementation.
This young leader always worked to ensure more and more
comfort and welfare of the poor in the villages and he always wanted that they should
be a part of the process of development. Rahul Gandhi, on many occasions, reiterated
that, the youth in the villages should take part in the politics to cleanse the
system. He always gave priority to the rural class. It is a disservice towards
our nation to put question mark on the long term objectives initiated by Rahul
Gandhi. The bridge he is trying to strengthen between the villages and our
towns is a form of pay- back.
Rahul Gandhi is moving in the right direction. Time will
prove his purity, clarity and vision. The efforts he puts in to democratize Youth
Congress and NSUI with a long term vision
is superb and these steps undoubtedly
would redefine Indian Politics. It is going to improve the quality of polity in
India.
Have patience, results would be very positive.
Leader is someone who doesn't shy after falling from horse's
back rather he takes the horse in command and continues fighting. Rahul Gandhi is
a leader who has started his journey well and time will tell what all hidden
talents he has. Unfortunately many people start judging people too fast.
He is one of the rare leaders who understands the
aspirations of rural and urban India. In his limited capacity has always championed
their cause. When Rahul Gandhi became MP from Amethi he believed his primary
concern was focusing on his constituency. When he was elected General Secretary
he started focusing on Youth Congress and NSUI as well. He took his assignments
seriously and moved in a systematic manner. He focused on his job and worked
hard. These are certain qualities which a reluctant politician can't inherit.
Never doubt Rahul Gandhi's intentions. For him the real
challenge is how to fix the leakages in almost all the welfare schemes meant
for the most humble person of our society. With new assignments in hand, one
can witness more commendable achievements from this young and dynamic leader.

Sonia Gandhi pays homage to Indira Gandhi
Congress President Sonia Gandhi, following the foot steps of Indira Gandhi, is also seriously and sincerely keeping the aam aadmi as the main focus of the Congress and the Congress-led governments. Further Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi loves to be amongst the masses to know more about them, learn their problems and to find solutions for the grievances. Rahul Gandhi always made it clear that he got the inspiration to go to the poor from his grand mother Indira Gandhi.
Nation remembers Indira Gandhi Part- 2
As daughter of independent India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi grew up in the midst of the struggle for independence in a highly political family. She was elected president of the youth wing of the Indian National Congress in 1956 and was elected to parliament in place of her father when he died in 1964. Soon, Indira Gandhi emerged as one of India's most powerful prime ministers.
Under her stewardship India won a war against Pakistan for the liberation of Bangladesh in 1971. She ushered in the green revolution that ensured food security for India, nationalised banks in a move that cushioned India from the worst of the current global recession and abolished princely states. It was during her stint as Prime Minister that India joined the nuclear club and took big strides in the field of science and technology. In international diplomacy Indira Gandhi was an effective and strong leader who dared to take on the United States.
But her primary strength lay in her ability to connect with the poor. In many houses in the south of the country she's worshipped along with religious deities. For large numbers of Indians, Indira Gandhi is a progressive and idealistic figure. It's not her political failures, rather her mass appeal, charisma and her belief in an Idea of India that endures.
Remembering Indira Gandhi, the iron Lady of India
November 19 is the 95th birth anniversary of one the most charismatic leaders of modern India, our first and only woman prime minister, cherished by millions - the Iron Lady of India, Indira Gandhi. She is regarded by many as the country's best prime minister and her extensive agricultural and financial reforms are still relevant.
Even after twenty eight years of her assassination, that has shocked the entire world, India's only woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, has an enduring presence in the minds of most Indians. For many she remains a messiah who connected directly to the poor and underprivileged with her social welfare programmes and catchy populist slogans like garibi hatao (oust poverty). She had contributed a lot for the upliftment of the downtrodden in the country.

To this day leaders of Congress party seek votes in remote areas of the country in the name of Indira Gandhi. This shows how the Indian poor across the country remember their greatest leader Indira Gandhi even today. The present Congress President Sonia Gandhi, following the foot steps of Indira Gandhi, is also seriously and sincerely keeping the aam aadmi as the main focus of the Congress and the Congress-led governments. Indira Gandhi believed that nations are built on the strength of their determination: Sonia Gandhi
Sonia Gandhi
, UPA Chairperson and Congress President addressing the gathering at Dhaka on
the occassion of Indiraji being conferred with the Bangladesh Freedom
Honour said " Women's empowerment has been a key factor in your success.
Your NGO's and Government have worked together most effectively for the better
delivery of services. We each have something to teach the other and must
continue to do so in the spirit of mutual respect and equality. Of course our
countries will follow their own chosen paths of development but to the extent
we are able to cooperate and learn from each other's experiences. That is what
Indira Gandhi would have wanted and that is what I hope we will constantly
endeavour to do.
Indira Gandhi rightly believed that nations are built on the strength of their determination in facing problems, no matter how immense. The people of Bangladesh and its leaders, its freedom fighters have given ample evidence of such courage in the face of innumerable odds and difficulties. And you Madam Prime Minister exemplify this through your inspiring and enlightened leadership. You have endured hardships, made many sacrifices and stood steadfast by your principles in the course of your long public life.
Indira Gandhi whom you had known would have been proud of you.
Mr. President , Madam PrimeMinister we in India whole heartedly subscribe to building the closest friendship and cooperation with Bangladesh. You can be sure that as Bangladesh moves from success to success there will be no louder cheer than that from us in India.

Rahul Gandhi kick-starts his campaign in Himachal
Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi joined the Congress
campaign in the poll bound state of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday accused the
BJP of creating obstructions for the legislations benefiting the people at
large. Rahul Gandhi also argued that
only the Congress is serious to fight corruption. He addressed public rallies
in Solan, Kangra and Keylong. The Congress leader said while the union
government has been sending money through central schemes, the state government
has created a situation where a very small portion reaches its intended
beneficiaries.
Taking on the BJP for its "anti-tribal" policies, Rahul Gandhi
said that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was responsible for getting
tribal status for the residents of Lahaul and Spiti and the Congress had made
every effort to ensure the welfare of the tribal community in the state and the
country.
"It was only after this that the tribal sub-plan
started. But what is the BJP trying to do? They are trying to bring this down
further. They are reducing it from 9 per cent to 8.5 per cent," Rahul Gandhi
said attacking the BJP government. "We run a government that works for the
welfare of poor, a government that provides schemes like MNREGA while they run
a government for the rich," he said, adding, "We talk about joining,
while they talk about breaking".
In Kangra, Rahul Gandhi said BJP was opposed to the idea of
a government working for welfare of the 'aam admi' and that is why it did not
allow Parliament to function. "Disruption of the Parliament did not hurt
the BJP. It hurt the common people," he said. Rahul Gandhi urged the
voters to support Congress for the benefit of the people and development of the
state.
