Addressing a Congress workers’ meet at Babrala, Gunnaur All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said that the non-Congress governments in UP, during the past 20 years, have pulled the state backwards. Kicking off the second phase of Congress’ Campaign in the run up to the upcoming assembly polls in the state Rahul Gandhi promised that the Congress government will lead Uttar Pradesh back to the top position again.
Referring to the local issues he said that according to your leaders there is an urgent need for a dam to solve water scarcity in the area. Only Rs 3 crore is required to build such a dam. But the state government, which has plundered about Rs 3,000 crore from the NRHM scheme, is not extending any financial help for this cause. With Rs 3,000 crore they can easily construct at least two dams in every constituency of UP.
