Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi in Kaushambi (U.P) Part 1

All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi who is on a five-day tour to poll bound Uttar Pradesh continued with his relentless attack on the Mayawati-led BSP Government in Uttar Pradesh on corruption during his rally on the fourth day of his campaign. The Congress General Secretary took a potshot at the ruling party on Friday and said that "the elephant in Lucknow eats grass as well as sugarcane and sugar mills".
Addressing a largely-attended election rally at Dr Rizvi Degree College in Karari, Kaushambi on Friday, Rahul Gandhi held BSP responsible for the pathetic conditions in UP. "Haathi ghaas khata hai, aur saath mein ganna aur sugar mill bhi kha jaata hai (Elephant eats grass as well as sugarcane and sugar mills)," he alluded sarcastically. Saying that both Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party and ruling BSP responsible for UP's backwardness and endemic corruption, Rahul Gandhi added "while Mulayam's regime was mired by the police recruitment scam, the present BSP government has eaten up all the Central funds sanctioned meant for the poor".
