Sonia Gandhi in Raebareli: BSP Govt. obstructed the implementation of Ce...

Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi along with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attended a mammoth election rally in Raebareli, the Parliament constituency of Sonia Gandhi. Sonia Gandhi said that the two decades old non-Congress regimes in Uttar Pradesh took the country backward and assured that a Congress Government will bring back development in the state.
While addressing an election rally Congress President said, “The Government at the Centre made policies and schemes for the welfare of the people and also sent huge amount of funds to every state without any discrimination. In fact, it extended larger help to the states like Uttar Pradesh considering its backwardness. We want all people across the country to be a part of development. We want to bring in positive changes in the lives of my brothers and sisters”.
“The Congress party has been fighting, since the beginning, to protect the interests of every citizen in the country. Now we are fighting to bring back the happiness and development in Uttar Pradesh and for that we need your support and cooperation,” said the UPA Chairperson.
The Congress President was also critical of the state government for obstructing the implementation of the Centre's schemes and efforts to develop the state, particularly Raebareli and Amethi.
“There was a deliberate attempt to discriminate against Raebareli. They obstructed every proposal by the Central Government for the benefit of this area. I can give you a number of examples to prove this. The Central Government was planning to bring a hospital like AIIMS with all modern amenities at Lalganj but the state Government refused to provide the land for it. Similarly we had approved Rs. 240 crore for the drainage and sewerage in Raebareli, Rs. 170 crore for drinking water scheme and had made a proposal of Rs. 64 crore for the roads. But, the state Government did not take up the matter with the Centre. The state Government authorities denied permission to conduct an army recruitment camp in Raebareli. I want to ask you whether the youth in our Amethi and Raebareli have no right for jobs. Is there any fault with them?” asked the M.P from Raebareli.
