Congress General Secretary RahulGandhi said while addressing a public rally in UP as part of his Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh that the non-Congress leaders have betrayed the people of Uttar Pradesh. Lashing out against Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav for befooling the people of Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi charged that BSP and Samajwadi Party are indulging in caste-based vote bank politics. Reminding the people that the time has come to get rid of these non-Congress parties Rahul Gandhi said, "You trusted the BSP and gave it 208 seats in the last elections, but did Mayawati come to you or heard your problems?" Rahul Gandhi added that earlier people trusted Samajwadi Party but it too did cheat the people. “They got criminals posted in police stations and the victims did not get justice,” Rahul Gandhi said. Rahul Gandhi said that these parties had duped the people over two decades. The Congress leader requested the people not to play into their tricks anymore. Rahul Gandhi urged them to give a chance to Congress (I) and promised that Congress (I) would put the state back on the track of development.
