Rahul Gandhi: Mayawati’s politics has been without any principles

Attacking BSP chief Mayawati for running the most corrupt and non-responsive government, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said her politics has been without any principles. Her ministers have misused their official position, grabbed government lands while her magical elephant ate up entire funds sent by the Congress led centre which were meant for the welfare of the poor, Rahul Gandhi had said during his recent campaigns for the UP Assembly elections. Instead of serving the people she has fulfilled her interest of remaining in power at the cost of good principles, alleged Rahul Gandhi. The Congress General Secretary also reminded that for the greed of power Mayawati had earlier shared power with BJP and ruled the state on a six-monthly basis. “BJP and BSP ideologies are directly opposite to each other” said Rahul Gandhi. As this arrangement failed because it was not based on any principles other than self interest, she allied with Mulayam Singh Yadav whom she now calls her arch enemy, added Rahul Gandhi. “Again in 2007 elections she befriended brahims, khatris and banias whom she used to abuse earlier” continued the Congress leader. Arguing that Mayawati has been playing unprincipled politics to remain in power, Rahul Gandhi appealed to the people to vote for Congress (I) this time in their own interest. The Congress campaigner assured that Congress (I) would work for progress of all irrespective of their caste or religion.
