Attacking Mayawati for neglecting development of the most populous state of the country, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said that the youth is now impatient for change. “Why the youth is not getting employment in their own state”, Rahul Gandhi had asked while addressing public meetings for the recently held Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in which he had led the Congress campaign. Congress (I)-led UPA government launched MNREGA – a flagship scheme – for providing guaranteed employment to the poor, Rahul Gandhi informed. It is a poverty alleviation scheme which guarantees minimum 100 days job for the poor at a daily wage of @ Rs 120, ensuring minimum yearly income of Rs 12,000. While this scheme is a great success in Congress ruled states, in UP Mayawati stole the money and the poor got nothing, argued the Congress leader. Commenting that the youth in UP is hardworking, talented and capable of bring the change, Rahul Gandhi said, the youth needs some one to hold their hands and lead them. This has boosted the morale of the youth who are turning to Rahul Gandhi for leadership. Responding to the feelings of the youth, Rahul Gandhi has exhorted them to vote for Congress and assured that Congress (I) will unleash their potential to develop UP to No 1 state in the country.
