Rahul Gandhi always wants positive changes towards development

For Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, overall development is the priority. During the recent campaigning in Uttar Pradesh, he could change the focus of the agenda to development. He always insisted that there is a need for change of guard in UP for development. Rahul Gandhi had said that there was time when Uttar Pradesh worked as an anchor in the development of the country, while today it is in a pathetic state.

“There was time when Uttar Pradesh led the nation in the field of development and health, but today the state government has no place for words like development in its dictionary,” he said.

The crowds answered in a big no, when he asked whether they were happy with the state of affairs of UP in the last two decades. He had alleged that the consecutive governments in the state have worked only to divide them and have not contributed to the development at all.

“The successive state governments of Uttar Pradesh have done nothing in the past few years except for dividing the society into sections, in the name of religion, castes etc. Nothing has been done. The state still has the same roads, electricity, which was there when Congress was in power,” Rahul Gandhi had said.

Rahul Gandhi had urged the people, “Uttar Pradesh government is running on the funds provided by the central government. But where are all the central funds going? Is it being used for development? Government should work for development of the state, and if it doesn’t then you only will have to do something about the government”.

Rahul Gandhi urged the people for their support for a golden future of the state. “If we all join hands, we can change the face of Uttar Pradesh, and that’s what I promise to you,” he added.
