Sonia Gandhi: BJP and its allies are destroying the social fabric in Karnataka

Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi alleged in Mangalore on Thursday that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies had destroyed the social and secular fabric of the society in Karnataka by spreading hatred among people. While addressing the Congress workers at Nehru Maidan, Sonia Gandhi asked her partymen to “fight forces of communalism regardless where they originate from”. She asked the workers to defeat the “forces of communalism” in the coming Assembly elections in the State. “The BJP and its allied organizations are destroying the social fabric in Karnataka. They have sought to divide the society on religious lines and they have spread religious prejudices and hatred” said Sonia Gandhi. “We the Congress party must stand up and fight against this. We must fight against communalism regardless from where it originates from. Your enthusiasm tells me that the people in Karnataka are fed up with the BJP and you want to get rid of this corrupt government. We, as workers, as members of the Congress party, cannot remain complacent and we cannot take things for granted” she added.
