Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi addressed a mammoth election rally at Mandvi (Surat) in South Gujarat on Friday as part of her campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. She took on the Modi-led BJP government in the state and said that the people are fed up with the present state government.
Sonia Gandhi asked “What is the status of the rights of forests given to Adivasis by the Congress-led UPA Government? Why there is no development and employments promised by BJP? Congress always tried to help our brothers and sisters when they are in crisis, whether it is drought or earthquake. We have been maintaining a good relationship with Southern Gujarat”.
