Slamming Mayawati for turning back on misuse of MLA funds by her legislators, Congress (I) has said she let the public money be used by BSP MLAs for their personal benefits. Anis Ahmed - a BSP minister in Mayawati’s government - is under scanner of Lakayukta for misuse of MLA funds. Anis is running Shafi Khan Memorial Muslim Educational Society. His wife is President of the society and his brother is administrator there. The Society is running three institutions: Shafi Public Senior Secondary School, Nishan Girls Inter College and Shafi Degree College. The Minister misused his MLA funds for the construction/repair of these three institutes owned by him, said Congress (I). Lokayukta has registered a case against the Minister for misuse of public funds for personal purposes. Not only these legislators but numbers of other MLAs of Mayawati are also involved in scams and misuse of public money, said Congress (I).
