Flaying Mayawati for pulling a fast one the farmers in the name of providing them with high yield rice seeds, Congress (I) has said she has indulged in huge scam of rice seeds involving crores of rupees. To increase the soil fertility and crop yield Mayawati government announced Rs 53 crore scheme to provide cost free high yield rice seeds to farmers, said Congress (I). The same seeds are available in the market is at Rs 18-21 per Kg. But at the time of distribution of the free seeds an amount of Rs 53.08 per Kg was charged from farmers. Farmers are asking where has their money gone as the government scheme was for free distribution of the seeds, said Congress (I). No receipt was given to the farmers. The money charged was not accounted for. Mayawati government in this way made huge money by hoodwinking the farmers, said Congress (I).
