Congress accused NDA for discrimination in allocation of food grains

BJP-led NDA government managed to form government in 1998 by subterfuges and underhand mechanism.  It was an opportunistic alliance of parties who had nothing in common.  There was no agenda for the country.  Due to its parochial and biased policy BJP adopted discriminatory approach towards Congress party ruled states.  This was in utter disregard of established principles of governance.  In the three worst droughts affected years (2001-02, to 2003-2004), palpable discrimination was seen in allocating food grains to the States ruled by Congress Government and the States who were coalition partners of the NDA Government. Rajasthan was allocated only marginally more food grains when the issue was raised by Hon'ble Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which were also reeling under unprecedented drought, were not allocated as much food grains as other States ruled by NDA allies were allocated. For such bad approach people are not willing to trust BJP again.
