Congress (I) : Mayawati unable to control state police

Congress (I) has said that people of Uttar Pradesh have now realized that Mayawati is unable to control police in the state.  It is because Chief Minister Mayawati has been using the state police for personal purposes.  Political interference in police administration is worst in the state, said Congress (I).  A recent example is Nidhauli gang rape case.  A 35-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped and later set afire by three youths in Nidhauli area which was the third case of rape in Uttar Pradesh in just 48 hours.  The woman, a widow, was allegedly raped and set on fire by three youths belonging to an influential family in Sabhapur village when she was alone in her house. Written complaint was lodged by the victim’s brother-in-law in this connection.  However, station house officer of Nidhauli Narendra Pal Singh ruled out rape and murder and said the woman had committed suicide.  This is the state of police control in the state of Uttar Pradesh under Mayawati government.
