Rahul Gandhi: Congress does not give empty promises, assures good governance

Launching a blistering attack on non-Congress governments of BSP, SP and BJP, which ruled the state of Uttar Pradesh in the past 22 years, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said that these non-Congress parties failed to provide good governance and development in the state. The young Congress MP from Amethi added that the people have now begun to realize that Congress (I) is the only alternative in UP.
Congress (I) policies are correct, programs productive and it is not hankering after power as these parties have been doing, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a big Congress rally in Uttar Pradesh. BJP sought votes in the name of religion but forgot to give good governance, argued the Congress leader.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Samajwadi party worked on caste basis which helped only 10% while 90% were left out. Mayawati’s BSP turned out to the worst, said Rahul Gandhi.  It promoted 100% corruption and turned the government into a trading company where deals were fixed by brokers at the cost of the people of the state.  Rahul Gandhi also said that Mayawati had broken all the records of corruption in the state of UP.
Now these parties are desperately in race with each other to offer freebies to people like a cow by BJP, a laptop by SP, reservations for anybody by BSP to get people’s votes, said Rahul Gandhi.  But Congress (I) does not believe in such empty promises and assuring them only good governance and all round development, said Rahul Gandhi.
