Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be visiting her Lok Sabha constituency Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh on July 26 and July 27.
She is likely to hold meeting of the district vigilance committee and also inaugurate some road project, apart from visiting some of the villages to monitor the implementation of the Central government funded schemes. “It will be a two-day visit but a detailed schedule is yet to come. Since it is one of the most awaited visits, we have started preparations,” said a party worker in Rae Bareli.
When Sonia Gandhi had visited Raebareli as part of her campaign during the recently held Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, she had blamed the then BSP government for the lack of development in the state and had alleged step-motherly treatment to Rae Bareli. Now Samajwadi Party is in power replacing the BSP.
The new SP government has agreed to the request of the Central government to establish an AIIMS-like institute in Rae Bareli and make land available. Not only this, the state government has also promised to clear all pending projects in the district.
