Rahul hits urges Gujarat Congress leaders to strengthen fight against Modi's brand of politics

New Delhi: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi lashed out at senior BJP leader and  Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi saying Modi brand of politics could impact the unity of the country. The Congress leader added during a meeting with Gujarat Congress leaders, that the party should strengthen its fight against Modi.

Rahul Gandhi asked Gujarat Congress leaders to focus on issues to build pressure on the Modi-led state government. In an interactive session with AICC general secretary in-charge of the state Gurudas Kamath, PCC chief Arjun Modhwadia and CLP leader Shankarsinh Vaghela, the young Congress Vice President reviewed the organisational work done by the Congress party in last three months.

"You raise issues, which build pressure on the government. Issues like why the Assembly session in Gujarat was called only for one day. Raise issues of public welfare," Rahul Gandhi told the leaders in the meeting. The Congress leader also urged the Congress leaders from the state to propagate the success of public welfare programmes done by the Centre. He discussed with the leaders the agitational programmes by the party to be launched in the next three months at the district and block level.

The Congress’ strategy would be to target the BJP government there on 'flaws in policy' more than the personality. Kamath, who was made the in-charge of Gujarat briefed Rahul Gandhi about his visits to the state. The main focus is to strengthen the party.
