Sonia Gandhi has real passion towards India

This year also the birthday of Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi went on calmly. She always has been reluctant to celebrate her birthday. At a time when political leaders waste lots of money for their birth day bash and for other similar occasions, here comes a different leader who always considers it improper to engage in unnecessary extravaganza.
For Sonia Gandhi politics is a way to serve the people. She was always concerned about the poor and underprivileged and the children. The Gandhi-Nehru family is known to the sacrifice for the nation. They always found it supreme to serve the people and the country. Sonia Gandhi proved that she also finds it important to serve the Nation than anything else. “Sacrifice for the nation is not the tradition of politics but it is the culture of our nation, the culture to serve the human kind” said Sonia Gandhi once. “31 years back I came to India as a bride of Rajiv Gandhi. And now I will spend my life till my last in this country and nobody can take away this right from me”. This shows her real passion towards India.
As chairperson of the National Advisory Committee and the UPA chairperson, she played an important role in making the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Right to Information Act into law.  She also actively involved in framing policies like Mid-day meal scheme for the school children, Right to Education, Anti Communal-ism Bill and Food security Bill. Sonia Gandhi is also keen to get the Women Reservation Bill implemented. Women empowerment has always been Sonia Gandhi’s main focus.
Now Gujarat election campaigning is going on. Sonia Gandhi led from the front and attended several rallies in the state. At a time, most of the opposite leaders engages in launching personal attacks, Sonia Gandhi never indulged in such narrow practices. She always focused on development, welfare of aam aadmi and progress of the nation. For Sonia Gandhi, the common man, the poor, tribals and underprivileged are the prime concern. As UPA Chairperson, she always took initiatives to press the Congress-led central government to frame pro-people policies and the country witnessed many welfare schemes under the present congress-led government.
On many occasions Sonia Gandhi recalled late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her husband and late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi highlighting their efforts for the development of the country and welfare of the people. She followed their footsteps and focused on common people’s problems and pains. And whenever she found that her intervention is required Sonia Gandhi never hesitated to do so. When today’s leaders move away from the people Sonia Gandhi and her son – Congress General Secrertary Rahul Gandhi - always tried to strike chord with the aam aadmi.

Sonia Gandhi follows footsteps of Rajiv Gandhi

“Who can forget the efforts of late Sh. Rajiv Gandhi to develop the Dahej region which is now considered to be one of the biggest industrial areas? More development works are in progress in this region as some roads are going to be converted as National highways soon” had said Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President and UPA Chairperson while addressing a mammoth Congress rally in Mandvi recently during her campaign for Congress in Gujarat.
During her campaign, the Congress President  took on the Modi-led BJP government in the state and said that the people are fed up with the present state government. “I know that  people are fed up with this government and Gujarat now needs new direction and that can be provided only by the Congress” said the Congress President and assured “we will work with sincerity, honesty, determination and commitment to fulfill the promises made in the Congress manifesto and will bring in radical development in Gujarat”
Striking an emotional chord with the people in the region Sonia Gandhi said “We have been maintaining a good relationship with the Southern Gujarat. I will never forget the support and affection you had extended to Indira Gandhi when she was passing through a bad phase in her political career in 1977. Our critics are trying to weaken our relationship but have failed. I salute your commitment and honesty and assure you that we will maintain this healthy relationship with you forever”.
Listing the pathetic state of affairs of the Adivasis in the region, the Congress President continued “The people of Southern Gujarat are polite, honest and hardworking.  But still, why there is so much poverty in this adivasi dominated area? Why there are no improvements in the life and financial condition of adivasis in the state?  The BJP government in the state has been talking loud about the 15000 cr worth Van Bandhu Kalyan Yojana.  But where has the money gone? Where are the facilities promised by the BJP government to the Adivasis in the state?”

Come out of Mayajaal urges Sonia Gandhi in UP

While addressing an impressive public rally in Moradabad as part of her campaign for the ongoing assembly polls, Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Friday asked voters to come out of the “Maya-jaal” of divide and rule policy and support Congress for development.
Addressing the people in the brass city Moradabad the Congress President blamed the non-Congress parties for spreading hatred, terror and anarchy in Uttar Pradesh.
“These are the parties that follow the divide and rule policy and you should beware of such forces. It is the Congress that does not treat the people on the basis of caste and religion. The BJP, BSP and SP filled their own coffers and it is because of them that UP has lagged behind. UP, at one time, was the glory of the nation and we must work towards regaining that pride,” said Sonia Gandhi.
Talking about the welfare policies by the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre Congress Sonia Gandhi said that it was the Congress that set up Sachchar Committee and later implemented its recommendations.
The Congress president said that the centre had sent over `1 lakh crore for different schemes in Uttar Pradesh but all the money went in corruption and scams. “We have given maximum programmes for the deprived sections of society. For women, apart from reservation in panchayats, the Congress has introduced several health schemes but the benefit of all this obviously did not reach you,” she said.
