Priyanka Gandhi can definitely play big role in Indian politics

“Reject the leaders who reject you,” is what Priyanka GandhiVadra kept on telling the people during her campaign in Uttar Pradesh for the recently held assembly polls. This statement talks volumes. The progressive vision and the clarity about concept of democracy, both come out from this statement. Yes, Priyanka Gandhi is a leader who realizes the strength of democracy and the power of vote which is crucial for bringing in changes in our system.   Beyond doubt one can also argue that she has got tremendous potential to become an outstanding leader in Indian politics. If she takes such a decision that will be the most appropriate one for strengthening the democracy and will be very much beneficial for the poor and underprivileged in our country.
When one analyses the campaigns of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra it becomes very clear that her main focus was development. She expressed disappointment over the bad state of affairs in the state of Uttar Pradesh. She had examples to list out to prove what she says was correct. Whether it is the case of electricity related issues in Raebareli or the issue of dilapidated roads in the region, she could pin point what is lacking in the state. She could convince the people what was going wrong in Raebareli, the constituency of her mother, Sonia Gandhi.  The people became very clear that the development works in their constituency is not reaping the expected benefits despite the sincere efforts from their MP Sonia Gandhi, because of the careless attitude of the non-Congress state government. Definitely Priyanka Gandhi had substantial evidences to prove her point. Same is the case with Amethi too, the parliament constituency of her brother Rahul Gandhi.
Yes, Priyanka Gandhi knows well how to convince people. The people give her a patient hearing. They loved to interact with her, talk to her and they feel happy to have a glimpse of their favourite leader. Like her brother Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi also loved to go to the people, interact with them to understand their grievances. She also argued that the leaders should go to the people to know their issues and if a leader stops going to the people, she asked the people, to reject him. She is right. In democracy the real power is in the hands of the people. That is what she always tried to tell the people.
When Priyanka Gandhi was given the responsibility to look after the affairs in Amethi and Raebareli during the last UP assembly polls, she could handle it in a quite appreciable manner. All her public meetings - she preferred to address small gatherings at maximum places – attracted a good number of enthusiastic crowd. No one can be blamed if they compare her with Late Indira Gandhi. Priyanka Gandhi, they say, is having the same charisma and potential, quite similar to late Congress leader – Indira Gandhi.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had urged the people to ‘think properly and intelligently before casting your votes” - a clear message to remind the people about the strength of votes. She could help people to learn about their role in a democracy. They could realise after listening to Priyanka Gandhi that if people want a change, they can do so. That is the strength of democracy and the importance of elections, people told themselves.  That is what our democracy needs to strengthen itself and that is what Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been effectively practicing.

Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi charm Raebareli

It was a rare scene for the people of Raebareli, when they saw Priyanka Gandhi Vadra innocently and affectionately pinched the cheeks of her mother Sonia Gandhi during a public rally of the Congress workers and supporters in Raebareli. The affectionate gesture clearly showed the profound love between the two and also the wonderful mother-daughter relation. It was a memorable day for the people of Raebareli as well as a confidence-building experience for the Congress workers in the region when both Congress President Sonia Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed the rally together as part of their Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh.
Both Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi addressed the people. Priyanka Gandhi gave the war cry by saying “uthenge, jaagenge and badlenge” along with the crowd. Congress President Sonia Gandhi held the 22 years of the non-Congress regimes responsible for the lack of development in the state of Uttar Pradesh and assured that a Congress Government will ensure development in the state.
The Congress-led Centre sent one lakh crore of rupees to the state of Uttar Pradesh under various schemes but nobody know where those funds had disappeared, said Sonia Gandhi. The Congress president also said that the state Government in U.P blocked many projects for development in Uttar Pradesh especially Raebareli, the Parliament constituency of Sonia Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: The basic quality of a leader is respecting the people

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who had campaigned for Congress in Uttar Pradesh visited various parts of Amethi and Raebareli, the parliament constituencies of her brother and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi respectively, asked the people to support Congress for ensuring a bright future of the people.
Priyanka Gandhi reminded the people “This is the question of your prestige, because a leader is your servant. The basic quality of a leader is to honour and respect the people.  He should respect your feelings”. “A leader should realise that it is not his responsibility but it is his religion to find solutions to your issues..  I cannot make them understand this. I can just convey this to you.  I can just remind you and tell you that you posses the entire strength,” added the Congress campaigner.
“Every vote is valuable not because it helps some party to come to power, but it protects your rights.. Don’t forget your rights. If you cast your votes to the proper candidate, then you are strengthening your own rights” said Priyanka Gandhi.  “You have witnessed that Congress identifies your rights and makes policies accordingly. You got the MGNREGA scheme from the Centre. What is MGNREGA? It is the right for job. Congress wants that every youth, how poor he may be, should have the right for job. The right to education and right to information also were made by the centre realizing your rights and to find solutions to your grievances” argued the Congress leader. “So you will have to think whether you require a Government which is concerned for you and committed to serve you with devotion or a Government which wastes crores of rupees to build big buildings, to construct palatial buildings and factories for the leaders, look after their own selfish interests and dragging you backward. The entire strength is in your hands… If you want to bring about changes then you will have to wake up..You did injustice with your region in the past 10 years..Had you elected a Congress MLA in last 10 years, there would have been much more development in UP with the help of at least with the MLA funds... “ said Priyanka Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: Reject those leaders who reject the people

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who had campaigned for Congress in Amethi and Raebareli requested the people to support Congress for the welfare of the people and development in the state. The Congress star campaigner had also said that the non-Congress parties did nothing for the state or for the people and the state of U.P was dragged backwards because of their misrule.
Priyanka Gandhi had addressed the meeting in Inhuana. The Congress star campaigner had said “I will not trouble you much. Dr. Muslim is the Congress candidate from here for the third successive elections. Last time you defeated him by about 500 votes and by 900 votes before that. Now I hope that you will help him win by thousands of votes”.
Priyanka Gandhi continued “I am confident for this because I know how much development was done and people’s problems were heard by your MLA. You know better than me. Whatever developments you see here was done either by your Congress MP or by the Congress led Central Government. Neither your MLA nor the state Government did anything for you”. ”By electing Dr. Muslim as your MLA you will have the benefit that both the MP as well as your MLA would be of the same party (Congress)” added Priyanka Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: Voting gives people power to change

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed a well attended public meeting as part of her Congress campaign in Gauriganj which belongs to Amethi Parliamentary constituency from where her brother and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi is the Member of Parliament.
Priyanka Gandhi also had a quick media chat with the press at Jamon.  "I have been asked to look after the 10 assembly constituencies of Amethi and Rae Bareli, and I am doing that," she said.
The charismatic Congress campaigner urged people to vote for change in the state where politics over the last 22 years had become religion and caste-based. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had covered 160 km, stopped at over 60 places and addressed 11 meetings, all in Gauriganj.
With her attractive smile Priyanka Gandhi gently reprimanded voters, "You did not pay heed to my request in 2007. You had to suffer for the past five years. The MLA is constructing a big bungalow. The situation is bad here." She added, "Vote for change. Not for Rahul or the Congress, but for the future of your children."
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra spoke of an old temple near the meeting ground at Pindara. "I used to come here as a child. Now I have two children. They go to good schools. But the children here do not have good schools. When I come here after 22 years from now, my children would have got good jobs, but these children will be here only."
Going beyond the speech, Priyanka Gandhi turned her public meetings into a question-answer relay. "What is the meaning of politics?" she asked her audience. To serve people, she replied. "What is the importance of casting votes?" she asked again with a quick answer ‘It gives you power to change’.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: Rahul Gandhi is stubborn, committed and hard worker

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had recently visited Amethi and Raebareli by and addressed a serious of public meetings as part of her Congress campaign. While talking at a public meeting at Balbhadrapur in Amethi Priyanka Gandhi informed that Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi who had led the Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh is committed to remove the backwardness of the state. During the last elections also Priyanka Gandhi had toured Amethi and Raebareli, the parliament constituencies of Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
“Now you have a chance after 22 years to change the state of affairs. You know Rahul Ji. He is very stubborn. He has been working hard and putting in all tremendous effort. I once asked Rahul Gandhi what he would get by putting this much amount of hard work. Rahul responded that he is never bothered about the election results. Uttar Pradesh is now backward and he wants to bring in positive changes,” said Priyanka Gandhi and the crowd acknowledged it with cheers.
“Now the time has come to think about a change. This is not the question of pride and honour of my family. But it is the question of the prestige of the people in UP.
